IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) has announced the signing of Crowne Plaza Danang City Centre.
Scheduled to open later this year, IHG says the 283-key property will help meet the growing demand for meetings and events in the city while offering guests a choice of rooms and suites with views of the Danang landscape or Han River.
Rebranded from the existing Bay Capital Danang Hotel, this quick conversion adds to IHG’s growing portfolio of Crowne Plaza hotels in Vietnam, joining properties including Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc Starbay and Crowne Plaza Vinh Yen City Centre.
A fifteen-minute drive from Da Nang International Airport (DAD), the 31-storey Crowne Plaza Danang City Centre is situated in Hai Chau district within walking distance of Danang’s administrative centre comprising government and commercial offices.
Facilities at the hotel include an all-day dining restaurant, lobby lounge and bar, meeting spaces of more than 500sqm, a swimming pool, spa and fitness centre.
IHG says the Asia-Pacific region is the future home of more than 90 Crowne Plaza hotels, including Crowne Plaza Bangkok Grand Sukhumvit and Crowne Plaza Bangkok Rama 9 in South East Asia, as well as an expansion of the brand across Australasia with four new Crowne Plaza hotels to open in the next six months including in Adelaide and Melbourne.
Danang, known as the ‘city of the sea’, is the fourth largest city in Vietnam and a popular beach destination.
“This signing builds on the strong presence IHG has developed in Central Vietnam in recent years, which has included the successful opening of voco Ma Belle Danang. It’s the latest milestone for our business in the country and strengthens our offering in Central Vietnam by adding to our existing three hotels, featuring more than 1,000 rooms in total,” said IHG senior director, development, Southeast Asia and Korea, Chris Anklin.
